Beazley regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal information as important and is committed to safeguarding the privacy of visitors to the website. Our Privacy Statement explains how we collect information from the www.myBeazley.com website (the ‘Site’), what we do with it, whom we share it with and how your information may be lawfully and correctly treated by our staff. The information we collect:

In order for you to use the service offered in this Site, we need to collect various types of information. This information will include name, address, e-mail address, telephone, fax numbers, and details relating specifically to any insurance coverage required.

Personal information

The types of personal information we will collect are Name, address, contact numbers, email address, bank account number and sort code. Providing Services. In the normal course of performing services for our clients, personal information may be shared within Beazley for research and statistical purposes, system administration and crime prevention or detection.

Third party information

When you supply us with information containing third party personal information (names, addresses, or other information relating to living individuals), we will hold and use that personal information to perform general insurance and other services for you on the understanding that the individuals to whom the personal information relates have been informed of the reason(s) for obtaining the personal information and the fact that it may be disclosed to third parties such as Beazley.

Online claims notification

The Site provides the ability for online claims notification by a user via an email. The site does not retain any details contained within the email. The email capability uses the users email system and the information along with any supporting documentation is emailed to the chosen department email address which is handled internally within Beazley.

Non-personal information

We collect and use the following information in the following ways:

Internet Protocol addresses (IP)

When you visit this Site, our server will automatically record your domain and IP, the date, time and duration of your visit, and any information you provide by filling in forms on any of our websites. An IP address is an assigned number, similar to a telephone number, which allows your computer to communicate over the Internet. This information does not identify you as an individual, but rather the computer that is being used to view the website. We only use IP address to analyse trends, administer our website, track general user movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with any of our websites or if you contact us for any other reason.

The Site may provide links to third party websites for your convenience and information. If you access third party websites via these hyperlinks, you will leave the Beazley Site. Beazley does not control such third party websites or their privacy practices, which may be different from Beazley’s. The Beazley privacy statement does not cover the personal data you choose to give to third parties.

Website surveys

From time to time, we may invite our Site visitors to participate in an online survey about our online services. Participation is entirely optional and any information we collect is only used to improve the products and services we offer to our visitors. We may collect your name, company and email address.

How we will use this information

  • Process claims notifications from an email  filled in by the user;
  • Process the information provided through the Site to provide indicative quotes for the services requested;
  • Provision of services to you and your clients as requested by you through this Site;
  • Provision you and your clients quotes for insurance products offered to you through this Site.
  • Respond to any query or comment you have made, or to provide you with news or information you have requested.

The data we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA. By submitting your details you agree to this transfer, storing and processing. On many occasions data processing will take place at Beazley, and at a third parties subcontracted to Beazley, called Moore Stephens, Bottom Line. The Site is hosted in Microsofts Arzue cloud service. At no time with Microsoft have access to Customer data. The same duty of confidentiality and security will apply to Moore Stephens and Bottom Line and all processing will be carried out under our instruction.

In relation to any other third parties we will only disclose your information where you have given your consent or where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary for the purpose of, or in connection with legal proceedings or in order to exercise or defend legal rights. Please see the section on ‘Disclosure of your information’ for more specific examples.

All data processing is regulated under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Disclosure of your information

For the purpose of the provision of an insurance product to you, in the event that your client requires a direct debit, the account information you have entered on behalf of your client will be transmitted from the Site to Bottomline technologies.  Bottomline technologies will use the information for the sole purpose of validating bank account and sort code details and will process information in a secure manner only for the duration of the account and sort code validation process. The information will be transmitted securely using secure internet protocols.

We do not sell or disclose the personal information we collect through the Site to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may, however, share aggregate or de-identified information about users with third parties for marketing, advertising, research or similar purposes.

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in Section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006 without your consent except in accordance with your instructions (including to provide the services you have contracted with us to provide to you) or as identified in this Privacy Statement. This Privacy Policy is not applicable to personal information that is already in the public domain. Where we have personal information received independently from a third party, even where this is on the understanding that the individuals to whom the personal information relates have been informed of the reason(s) for obtaining the personal information and the fact that it may be disclosed to third parties such as Beazley, the terms of this Privacy Statement shall apply to such personal information.

We may use or distribute your personal information to the extent required by law, and as described below:

(i) Providing Services. In the normal course of performing services for our clients, personal information may be shared within Beazley for research and statistical purposes, system administration and crime prevention or detection. (ii) Agents and Service Providers. We sometimes contract with other companies and individuals to perform functions or services on our behalf, such as hosting this Site, administering of support services on our behalf. They may have access to personal information, such as name and email addresses, needed to perform their functions, but are restricted from using it for purposes other than providing services for Beazley.

(iii) Business Transfers. As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets. In such transactions, user information, including personal information, generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, if either Beazley itself or substantially all of Beazley assets were acquired, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets. Modifying and removing personal information

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. If at any time you would like your record and all personal information relating to you removed from our system, please send an e-mail to info@Beazley.com. Such removal may not be possible until any current contracts of insurance with you have expired.

You have the right to apply for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small administration fee) and to have any inaccurate information about you corrected.
